According to Billboard, U2's upcoming world tour will be called "U2360". It was previously reported the tour's name was to be "Kiss the Future," however Billboard's editors updated the story today with the new tour title. As has previously been reported, the tour begins in Barcelona, Spain, on June 30. U2 will stay in Europe through Aug. 22, then hit the U.S. on Sept. 12th in Chicago. The band will play in North America until Oct. 28, and plans on working the globe until the fall of 2010.
Playing in a 360 configuration will increase the capacity by about 15%-20%, depending on the stadium. The configuration opens up myriad opportunities for scaling ticket prices. The top ticket price will be slightly higher than last time and the bottom price will be lower, with the floor seats -- the closest to the stage -- the lowest priced. Field level is going to be $55, and there will be 10,000 tickets a show, every show, at $30. The price points are $250, $90-$95, depending on the market; $55 and $30.
On-sales will begin in Europe in mid-March, and North American on-sales will start in late March/early April. U2 will also resurrect its random upgrade program first seen on the Vertigo tour in 2001, where select fans purchasing GA tickets will be moved closest to the stage.

We haven't seen it in print ourselves, but according to "dland9393," a member of our forum, Bono tells Rolling Stone magazine that U2's next studio album will be called Songs Of Ascent, it'll be released in 2010, and that "Every Breaking Wave" will be the first single -- a "surging anthem." And here's a choice Bono quote about the next album:
"Songs Of Ascent will be quieter than No Line in many ways, it's that ghost album of hymns and Sufi singing. We're making a kind of heartbreaker, a meditative, reflexive piece of work, but not indulgent."

Letter From A U2 Fan:
"well, yes I must be crazy. i had to share this....cause, cause.
in the last couple of days, i've been in the midst of big change, with photography, digital, selling my art online, trying to suss it all out...learning all the new software and trying to not "resist" the technology, and letting go of everything i use to know and the way i use to do it
.....and feeling soooo....low at times, because everything I've become (photography and artist) has changed...and I have to invent the new me. So, I'm constantly feeling and hearing.... all the fear and negative voices trying to stop me.
so, then I remember, to play the new U2. AND, i can't tell you how much this means to me. it's like I'm in CCS again, listening to BOY.
But, it's now.
I've changed and grown...and adapted. and the band has too. NOT, to sound corney....but, eventually - every U2 fan is gonna catch up - and FEEL LIKE THEY USE TO. (again)
I was just dancing in my kitchen, to the album....(ALBUM) and getting shivers....and feeling "the old 20 year old mac u2 jam crowded house squeeze police at bookies halloran at DET ramones in ann arbor todd at the masonic the gang at poco's, me". It's making me feel like ME, but with the regard to the NEW ME, and the OLD ME with the OLD U2 and the NEW U2.
i'm serious. (and with the next album coming out ...and with the broadway play...and the next "tommy" album)
HUGE. HUGE.
